Microsoft to create 200 jobs in Dublin

Microsoft is to create 200 highly skilled engineering positions in Dublin.

The recruitment drive follows an investment of €27m in a new 10,000sq.m engineering hub close to its main campus in Leopardstown.

The expansion will bring to 2,700 the total number of staff employed by the tech firm at its offices and data centre operations in Ireland.

Microsoft has already begun recruiting for the new positions, which span areas such as software and customer engineering, programme management, product design, user experience and data science.



Digital Realty announces new 250MW data center campus in Sydney

The global data center provider acquired 16.2 hectares of land to expand its reach.

The new investment is expected to generate hundreds of jobs through construction during the development phase.


Sydney is set to become a prominent enterprise data powerhouse and is projected to generate the fourth-fastest growth in the intensity of data gravity by 2024, according to the “Data Gravity Index” carried out by Digital Realty.

Four of the six fastest-growing cities for data are located within APAC, with Singapore in first place, followed by Hong Kong in second, Sydney in fourth, and Tokyo in sixth.

Australia is strategically located along submarine fiber cable routes, with submarine cable deployments linking Sydney to Asia.



Google inaugurates its Fredericia data centre

Google inaugurated its new data centre in Fredericia on Monday the 30th of November, with a total investment of the site reaching over €600 million.

The data centre has been supporting several thousand jobs during the construction phase, whilst expecting to add up to 150 new permanent jobs once in operation.

The large data centre is operated with renewable power and has also spurred on further investment into five Danish solar parks.
