NTT has acquired six acres of land to construct a 70MW data centre in Noida, India. The Japanese company will reportedly invest $137 million in the project, and the facility will be located in west Noida, in the Uttar Pradesh region of India.

NTT announced a new hyperscale 38MW facility in Mumbai in September, which brought the number of data centres it operates in the country to 10 data centres and over 150MW of power. The new Noida facility sees the Japanese company’s capacity in India jump by almost 50 percent.

In 2019, Green extended the Zurich West campus with an 8MW cloud data centre, and three further new buildings, each with 11MW, are in the planning stage at this site.

STT proposes greenfield data centre campus in Noida, India

In other news related to Noida, India, Singaporean firm STT have proposed a 36MW $150 million campus built in two phases.

The Indian division of the Singapore-based data centre firm reportedly wants to build a new campus in the city, located in the northern Uttar Pradesh region just outside Delhi.

STT GDC India representative Alok Kumar told local representatives the first phase of developing the campus would require an investment of around $82 million and have IT capacity of 18 MW.

Three acres of land has been identified by the investors in Noida to set up the proposed data centre campus to provide services to major cloud players, hyper-scalers, and large enterprises, and would be scalable to reach 36MW capacity in the second phase of development. The second phase would require a further $68.5 million investment.

The project would create approximately 80 direct job opportunities and around 1,000 indirect jobs across both phases of development.
